Plan your route.
Refer to our online calendar of events. Before you leave, take a few minutes to plan your route according to the amount of time you have.
Bring an empty cooler.
A Rural Ramble through the Valley will provide plenty of opportunity to bring home something fresh from the fields! There will be a grand selection of fresh produce and home baking for you to purchase along the way.
Sensible shoes and comfortable clothes are the dress code. Pack sunscreen, umbrellas and extra sweaters because one can never predict the weather. Events and activities go ahead rain or shine.

Take your time.
Country living is generally at a slower pace – we’ve learned that one can accomplish just as much by moving sure and steady.
Bring some spending money.
The Ottawa Valley is proud to boast some of the best boutiques and artists in the world. A Rural Ramble is an excellent opportunity to pick up a souvenir or find that perfect gift for someone special.
Respect the land.
If the site of an event has posted Do Not Enter signs it’s either for your safety or for the protection of crops and animals. Remember to recycle and please do not litter.
Treat farm animals with respect.
If visiting a farm, remember that while animals are domesticated — they are not necessarily pets.
Participation goes a long way towards education. Take part, have fun and get the most out of your Rural Ramble experience.
